How does Whautomate count contacts?

Accepted Answer

Whautomate charges for contacts active in the last 30 days - Plus includes 2,500 - and keeps inactive contacts in its CRM for free. That's more generous for large, quiet lists. SharpTXT counts the contacts you store (500 on Standard, 3,000 on Business), which keeps smaller lists simple and predictable.

Do both support WhatsApp Coexistence?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With Whautomate, your existing app chats stay in the app and its inbox starts fresh; it lists limits of 20 messages a second, no group chat sync, and possible disconnection if the app isn't opened for 14 days. SharpTXT supports Coexistence on Enterprise, and Standard can link any number with no Meta account at all.

Do I need booking and payments built in?

If you do, Whautomate includes appointment booking, invoices, payments and a WhatsApp store on every plan. SharpTXT doesn't build these in - it connects to the booking or billing system you already use through webhooks.

Can I switch from Whautomate without losing my contacts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Export your contacts from Whautomate as a spreadsheet and import them into SharpTXT using our template: phone number with country code, display name, and optional consent status, date and evidence - up to 5,000 rows per file, with your consent records carried across. Chat history isn't imported. On Standard, linking your number by QR code also syncs that phone's WhatsApp contacts.

Can I keep using my WhatsApp Business app number?

Accepted Answer

Yes, either way. Standard links your number the same way WhatsApp Web does, and your phone keeps working as normal. On Enterprise, connect with Meta's Coexistence and you keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number while SharpTXT uses the official API. Avoid moving a number onto the official API without Coexistence - Meta deletes the app's chat history when you do.

Is linking my number by QR code safe?

It's the same pairing WhatsApp Web uses, but it isn't an official Meta product, and WhatsApp can restrict or ban a linked number - our Terms say so plainly. If your number is critical to your business, use Enterprise: it runs on Meta's official API, and Coexistence lets you keep your WhatsApp Business app.

Do I pay Meta separately?

Not on Standard - there are no Meta fees. On Enterprise, Meta bills you directly for delivered template messages through your own WhatsApp Business Account, and SharpTXT adds nothing on top.
